Strange how the MSM and left wing loons make no mention of the 1980 Olympics.

President Carter decided that the USA would not attend the 1980 olympics due to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The olympics were held in the USSR ( Russia ).

Strange how Mr Carter has ben telling the West to listen and engage Iran and North Korea and Venezuela but at that time it was avoidance and having nothing to do with the Soviets were his policy.

I cannot recall the MSM not being in disagreement. I cannot recall anyone being vocally supportive of sending American athletes to Russia nor being told WHY the Russians even invaded in the first place.

Why would or should the West be concerned about people who do not speak a western language, whose religion is Islam, who have nothing in common, emotional nor historical with the West at all?

Further proof that Mr Carter received the golden envelope long before he entered the White House and this decision was made in the vein of not disturbing anything Islamic and supporting muslims; hence his lack of support for the Shah of Iran, or else no more SSS in the future.

BTW: Richard Perle and other neo cons were against that Afghan invasion, probably agreed with Carter re: 1980 olympics and now shun Bush as they probably began shunning Carter a long time ago.

If the Russians never left Afghanistan, would 9/11 happen - assuming they were able to kill many muslim terrorists at the time unfettered by the West ( what if the west regarded it as an internal matter?)

The neo cons, JBaker III and Jimmy Carter all have blood on their hands.
