Why do we need to simplify Muslim attitiudes to non-Muslims. What your saying would be like me stating that all Christians are blood-thirsty anti-semitic, Islamophobic, sexist fanatics. "You either recognise Christ's divinity or you're a dirty infidel who is destined to hell". While this has been true of some Christian communities at some time (i.e: the RC Church from 8th century to 17th) this is not true of all Christians at all times. Even during the crusades some Monks were critical of this policy of conquest (or re-conquest) and of forced conversion and oppression of "infidels".

The same applies to Muslims as historically some of its scholars/clerics and leaders have been savagely intolerant and repressive of those called kaff'irs and Dhimmis but many were quite indifferent and tolerant. Some especially the Sufis were very understanding of other faiths for example; Mazhar Jan-i-Janan who argued that Hindus are not dumb idolaters but have their own way of reaching the truth.

The facts are that there is no monolithic "Islam" ,"Christinanity" or whatever but many different forms and attitudes within each religion. The two great faiths have themselves been opened to a myriad of interpretations and internal disagreements despite their beliefs in ONE thruth. Their religious texts and traditions are also opened to such ambiguities, while the founders, prophets or messiah's real ideas and intenttins died along with them 1300 to 2000 years ago and God is not around to tell us better.

Lets focus on fighting and challenging the beleifs of fanatics whether they are Muslism or Christians, etc... and leave the tolerant ones alone in .peace
