Saudis could be friends as well.

Reader comment on item: [Saudi Arabia:] Not Friend or Foe

Submitted by Fariba Heidari (Nigeria), Jan 25, 2003 at 03:14

I am not a Saudi Arabian. But for several years now I have read the news regarding the Arabs in general through the western media and periodicals. In some of the articles and news reflecting the Arab Israeli conflict, you could sense a whiff of despicable attitude towards Arabs. For example in one magazine which I prefer not to name, they had referred to the Arabs as impotent. And this was all before the 11 Sept attack.

If the Saudis have been hypocrites towards the Americans, so have the Americans been untruthful towards them. The Americans have always taken them as bags of money.

The differences between the cultures could become softer through mutual understanding and setting up dialogues between the people of the two countries. Try to stretch a hand in truth and honesty; this time perhaps you will not be pushed back.
