Friend to Whom?

Reader comment on item: [Saudi Arabia:] Not Friend or Foe

Submitted by Ben Franklin (United States), May 15, 2002 at 21:24

A few days after September 11, I read that the relatives of Bin Laden in the U.S. were flown out of the country on a private jet. This was, I believe, during the period when all air traffic in our country was grounded. The F.B.I never questioned any of these people. It seems to me that they should have been interviewed to find out if they had any information about Bin Laden or if they were comlicit in the attacks. I haven't read anything about this incident since then. Who in our government gave the authorization for these folks to be spirited out of our country? I really want to know. I seems that these Saudis had some very good friends in high places.
