America's enemies within and without

Reader comment on item: Iran's Final Solution Plan

I am absolutely astonished that Mr. Ed Cline did not receive an immediate response from President Bush and can completely understand his angst and chagrin. After all is that not what the Presidency is all about, that is, responding to and obeying every directive from every citizen?

Although he must receive hundreds of letters, e-mails and other forms of communication daily, if not thousands, he should have recognized the international importance of Mr. Cline's letter. By not responding immediately to Mr. Cline, the President has labeled himself, according to Mr. Cline, as pathetic, and a greater menace to this country's security than its overt enemies. Of course, another menace to your country's security may very well be the President's critics who can find nothing right with any of his decisions and stand in condemnation of everything he does. The enemies of the greatest nation on earth are both within and without and I sometimes think that the greater damage is occurring within. Although politically incorrect, I add this quote from the Bible: Mathew 12:25: Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
