Iran's "Final Solution"

Reader comment on item: Iran's Final Solution Plan

I believe it impossible to overstate the seriousness of Iran's nuclear ambitions: to develop and USE WMD's against Israel - in spite of the consequences.

I truly accept that these fanatics mean to do it. The fate of Iran's population is not worthy of consideration, to the mullas. After all, are they not going to be granted eternity in paradise?

And tying the US's and Great Britian's (and practically everyone else's Intelligence Service's), mistaken assertion of WMD's in Iraq is absurd. The "yellow cake scandel" aside, it was necessary and prudent to take down Saddam's tyrannical regime - he had snubbed the International Community long enough and the UN's spinelessness only encouraged him to continue to do so. (I do wish we'd have had a plan to secure the peace, though.)

That said, however, Iran is a whole other ball game. They have made their intentions all too clear and the time for negotiating (bribing), and coddling Tehran is long past.

I have no doubt that Israel has advanced "neutron" devices which produce a minimum amount of residual radiation, yet would get the "job' done, quite handily - without contaminating the vast Iranian oil reserves . . . OR the region. Who are we to judge them for protecting themselves? I don't think it so selfish of Israel to insist upon existing as a state and the Jews as a people . . . and I wouldn't condemn them in the slightest for acting: unilaterally, preemptively and decisively.

Would it be a crime to send the Mullas and their ilk to Allah . . . without waiting for them to destroy Israel first? This loyal reader says, "No." I would liken it to a thug who has a gun to an innocent's head, while stating loudly and clearly his intention to shoot . . . being killed, instead, by his intended victim - acting in self-defense.
