Reader comment on item: Foreword: Why Islam's Reformers are Vitally Important
in response to reader comment: The onus of identifying Islamists must fall on no one else but Muslims.

By Islam's law of abrogation, Muhammad's latter years of behavior, scriptures, and beliefs ARE Islam. Period.

The Catholic church/Vatican created the Crusades. That belief system was NOT lead by the scriptures of Jesus Christ. That was the main reason that up until recent decades, scripture reading was forbidden to the Catholic rank and file - lest they learn the Truth and the apostasy of their Catholic doctrines.
The Vatican was responsible for the slaughter of millions of real Christians who were free to avail themselves of scripture reading - the Truth.
This of course did not negate the necessity of the Crusades. The Christian populations had nowhere near the resources to counter the Muslim hordes and the Crusades came very late in the game and after horrific losses incurred by all populations not Muslim.
