I agree with you for a very simple reason: unless the mother and native language is Arabic a person from outside the Arab world was not and is not a true Muslim. The Compassionate Quran is read, spoken and written in pure Arabic. Prophet Mohammed spoke in Arabic only. All population outside the Arab world are converts to Islam simply because they could not and cannot read or understand the Quran in Arabic. Thanks

Language is a superficial aspect of being Muslim. Many native Arabic-speakers cannot understand the Koran. Many non-native speakers have learned it. And translations do exist, even if informal.
