Regular elections?

Reader comment on item: Turkey's Last Free Election
in response to reader comment: Right to choose

Submitted by Naushad Omar (South Africa), Jun 18, 2011 at 11:50

The west only likes democracy in the muslim world if we choose rulers who are western sycophants. But if it is AKP or Hamas, then we hear all kinds of forebodings. The muslim public have very right to choose what ever government it wants. We muslims do not dictate to westerners who they should elect or not.

The AKP will prove everyone wrong as they power this nascent islamic democracy into the future with regular elections and expanded human rights.
