Hi, Jaladhi, you meant, I suppose, How can Western supporters of Muslims know Islam better than radical Imams, when the first hold Islam as peaceful, and the 2nd hold Islam as supremacist, if need be violently so! Very good question.

But I propose that counterjihadists and other interested Westerners on principle can study and know Islam as well as any Muslim and draw conclusions pertaining to defense of Democracies and maintaining safety from their knowledge, independent of Muslim opinion. For instance the conclusion that the core texts of Islam have not changed one iota in # 1200 years and that all Muslim-interpretation after that was manmade and need not be taken as binding by Muslims. And thus adherence to such interpretations can be seen as a deliberate choice if Muslims do abide by them.

And when I say let us declare Islam is irresponsiby vague, I combine this NOT with giving Muslims the benefit of the doubt. Which a majority of Westerners indeed still gives them.

No, if my policy were to be adopted, doubt would be replaced by CLARITY that Islam is irresponsibly multi-interpretable and that every Muslim, not declaring him or herself on the side of Democracy against dictatorial nations, organisations, should face consequences of that choice, or lack thereof.
