On Removing Blinders ...

Dr. Pipes,

In my post above I stated "... I hope you, Dr. Pipes, will eventually remove the blinders and recognize that islam itself is the real problem." I wish to retract the phrase "eventually remove the blinders."

Unfortunately, I mistakenly, inappropriately, and wrongly implied that Dr. Pipes does not see or understand the distinction between 'islamism' and 'islam' and 'islam itself.' Certainly, Dr. Pipes is far more qualified than anyone, as a scholar and expert on islam and the middle east, to know the truth of the matter. His extensive knowledge and judgement about islam and the middle east is unmatched.

I must admit that my comment implying that Dr. Pipes 'has blinders on' is ridiculous, untrue, and insulting. I regret having said it.
