Silence is Complicity

Reader comment on item: ISIS Is Not Islamic?

Submitted by James Middagh (United States), Sep 13, 2014 at 17:22

To choose words which muddle or avoid clarity is dishonest, disingenuous and the verbal equivalent of a bald faced lie! The president of the U.S. has elevated this to an art form. Of course ISIS is Islamic and of course they are terrorists. The majority of Muslims do support them, with their complicit silence if nothing else. Worldwide, hundreds of thousands of Muslims can raise international Hell over a cartoon but are so silent when their brethren demonstrate their barbarity with beheadings and crucifixions. This alone offers strong support for the idea that Islam is not a peaceful ideology and the majority of the world's 1.2 billion Muslim adherents are not innocent! Where is their outrage? Where is the condemnation by Muslims throughout the civilized world? Where are the riots in the streets? Perhaps they are waiting for another cartoon.

There is a mind set in the media, throughout society and in Washington that plain talk is to be avoided, which is tantamount to an institutionalized lie. People are starting to notice (some never will) but it is gratifying to see that there are public voices with a public forum, such as Daniel Pipes, who are instantly aware of this politically correct and dangerous nonsense.
