The World Has Truly Gone Mad

Reader comment on item: ISIS Is Not Islamic?

Submitted by yonason (United States), Sep 11, 2014 at 00:58

Could this seemingly solid speculation...

"In a world of low-cost, plentiful energy, ISIS could never have emerged as a major threat."

and this apparent supporting statement of fact, possibly hint at how to formulate a strategy to deal with the problem?

I think it does, but I also think that the massive global inertia we would have to overcome in order to implement any effective plan buys them time we may not be able to afford to lose.

To make matters worse, those tasked with finding a solution not only don't think one is urgently required, but are asserting that the problem itself is the solution, and must be made bigger.

Utter madness!
