'Palestinians' Never Learning Why It Can Never Be

Reader comment on item: Recognizing Israel as the Jewish State: Statements, Actions, Analyses

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 6, 2014 at 15:35

Ah, the 'Palestinian' perennial question: in which lifetime shall the 'Palestinian' mindset ever consider a Jewish state? In a perfect 'Palestinian' world, the answer is, of its natural course, never.

But why should anyone be shocked at the continued ambivalence of the unanswerable question? We find in the Israeli political mindset a divided approach to the 'Palestinian' question that leads to the following question: will Israel ever negotiate a political solution that does not need the language of the Jewish State?

The answer, for differing reasons, is still never.

Thus the conundrum is solvable by only one means: one side will never win; only the truth will win.
