in response to reader comment: 2 states Vs 1 state solution

Submitted by Melvin A. Fechter (United States), Jun 6, 2013 at 23:02

"So the requirement to recognize Israel as a Jewish state came in 2007, were they of a different faith before that?"

What in the world do you think you're saying, Abdulkarim? Israel was a people and a nation, and Jerusalem was its capital long before Islam came on the scene about 700 a.d.

"But you know what, I think the imminent US veto is a good thing, at least it will once and for all kill any lingering hope Palestinians had for a 2 state solution. At 20% of Israel population, and growing almost 40% faster the Jews, Israel will elect an Arab prime minister in about 40 years, and then we will have a unified holy land."

Dream on. The chances of a unified holy land are about zero. You have lived for 65 years with your three No's! of 1948. What's your problem? Do you find uncomfortable the bed Khaled Mashaal, Ismael Haniyeh, Mahmoud Abbas, Hamas, Fatah, the Palestine Liberation Organization, all the rest, made for you? Your numbers will not help you, my friend. Around the world you outnumber Jews about 100 to one. However it must, Israel will find a way to deal with you. But of one thing you are right: There will be no 2-state solution. There is now and will remain only one Sovereign State, the Modern State of Israel.
