Trying To Convince The Wrong People

Reader comment on item: Muslim Acts of Beheading in the West
in response to reader comment: Islam is a religion of peace

Submitted by Mike Ramirez (United States), May 27, 2013 at 00:35

Huma, I appreciate that you are trying to convince us that Islam is a "religion of peace" when really it is the Mujahideen, Al Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, etc. whom you should be telling this to. Why are there not the "millions" of peaceful Muslims in the Middle East, such as yourself, actively protesting against these groups?

As a Muslim, is it not your duty to correct those whom you say misrepresent Islam, lead them to the right path, and tell them they should be at peace with Jews, Christians and all unbelievers? Do you, Huma, therefore disagree with all the verses in the Qur'an that the Islamic terror groups abide by and cite in order to justify their ongoing jihad against non-Muslims (People of the Book, kafir, Atheists) just because they choose not accept Al'lah, Muhammad, and Islam as their religion? For example:

"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya (taxes) with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." (Qur'an: 009.029)
