It is not only thy that does not serve alcohol

Reader comment on item: Fashion at Turkish Airlines

Submitted by Berat Pottinger (Lebanon), Feb 13, 2013 at 17:07

I fly quite often. I think there is a misunderstanding. Many airlines do not serve alcohol in their domestic flights or short distance international flights. This is an economic decision rather than religious. Also many airlines do not serve alcohol to some Muslim countries as this s the culture and request of the host countries. So I think it s unfair to criticise THY for doing the same thing as the other airlines for economic reasons. However there is no excuse for the uniform. They are unfortunately very ugly. There are very elegant conservative hostess uniforms in the gulf. THY should shop around.
