Reader comment on item: Claiming Jerusalem is in the Koran
in response to reader comment: Muslims have existed ever since the creation of Adam

Just as Christians may claim that Jesus existed before time began, His message of universal love, tolerance, forgiveness and peace could not be delivered until a flesh and blood human being delivered them. So it is with the coming of Muhammed. Muhammed's message of I'SLAM which is an 'imperative' word meaning ' you must or will submit', and Mu'slim a passive case meaning " I have submitted" These notions of " Submit or die" were indeed prevalent in pre Muhammed times, but it was Muhammed who "codified" the religious, political, and social to produce "I'slam" . As H.G.Wells, said, "It was the best the Arabs could do"
