Jerusalem in the Qu'ran???

Reader comment on item: Claiming Jerusalem is in the Koran

Submitted by Susan H. Somerville (Israel), Mar 7, 2012 at 21:25

Dear Daniel Pipes,

I think that what you wrote at the conclusion of your article on Jerusalem in the Qu'ran is the most accurate statement yet; that it is a "counterfeit of history." Though I thoroughly appreciate your elegance, I want to say this same thing in another way. I see it as an attempt to create lies that will sell a totalitarian system to idiots. The psychology of the matter is that if the lies can be allowed to persist - unchallenged - their repetition will leave an imprint on people and bring support to what Islamic fascism portends. I think that we are much smarter than to allow that to occur. Keep up your good work.
