Psalm 2:6 - a Better Promise for Jerusalem than Sura 17

Reader comment on item: Claiming Jerusalem is in the Koran
in response to reader comment: sura 17

Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Apr 9, 2012 at 15:37

Vague allusions do not make facts. But that seems to be the way arguments are tried anymore – independent of facts not in evidence.

But the question is posed: if in form the quoted sura is heavily 'deuteronomic,' then the assumption as mentioned, is actually the tabernacle referenced (not yet in Jerusalem, still at that time held by the Jebusites?) and not the later-to-built Temple? Clarification here, please.

And further, even as may be alluded that 'the Trumpet would be sounded in Iliya,' what does that actually signify? And before anyone recounts again what Islam is trying to interpose in place of a Tanach inspired revelation, it might very well be a shofar being referenced.

And as far as the assumption being made of al-Quds being more important than Jerusalem, how is it again that Islam could not prevent it from falling into Israeli hands?
