Dear Dr Pipes:

Some of your readers in this thread of messages have stated that no Islamic country is happy. Every two or three months there is a new Islamic hotspot and Islamic societies seem to play a game of musical chair to pick the next hotspot. As I write this message, the hot spots are in Afghanistan and Syria. In Syria, some Syrians are killing other Syrians because they want to replace a Syrian dictator. In Afghanistan, Afghans are killing Afghans because Americans disposed of some Qurans exactly how they should be disposed off (by burning or burying them). In all cases of violence involving Muslims one thing gets very apparent: the dignity and value that Islamic societies attach to people's life is very small.
