Israel is a better company than Arabs

Reader comment on item: India, the Most Pro-Israel Country

Submitted by B.N.Gururaj (India), Apr 20, 2009 at 07:10

As an Indian, I am glad and proud that Israel enjoys high support in India. This has always been so, even under the leftist rule that choked India and her growth, under Nehru and Indira Gandhi. This policy of the past Indian governments never represented the people's will.

Under the influence of erstwhile Soviet Russia and leftists within India, India adopted pro-Arab and anti-Israeli stand. After the BJP Government of Mr.Vajpayee came to power in 1998, this trend was reversed. India and Israel are both victims of terrorism and have many common experience to share. Especially, India has the geographically has the advantage of strategic depth, which Israel does not have. Nevertheless, Israel has given the run for Arab money. Israel has not allwoed the combat with terrorism to come in the way of its economic development. India can learn from the resalience of Israel, and its firm manner of dealing with terrorists, instead of negotiating with terrorists, as India has been doing in the past.
