Reader comment on item: Niqab Security Outrages at Airports
in response to reader comment: This is My Video

Hi Mr. Pipes,

The incident took place at Montreal's international airport, therefore in the province of Quebec. If Air Canada wants to sue Mr. Flynn, shouldn't it be in the jurisdiction where the 'crime' was committed? I believe so.

Quebec has a new law that the rest of Canada doesn't have yet. It's called Article 9. This law was adopted by the government a few weeks ago to stop abusive court proceedings in cases of SLAPPs (Stratetic lawsuits against public participation). It's goal was also to respect freedom of expression for the collective good.

What Air Canada is doing to Mr. Flynn could be considered a SLAPP. Therefore, Mr. Flynn could stop proceedings or Air Canada harassment on the basis of Article 9. Just a thought but a good one. Please convey to Mr. Flynn. Thank you, S.K.
