Reader comment on item: Niqab Security Outrages at Airports

Submitted by myth (Germany), Aug 4, 2010 at 04:43

What is next ? Will the islamist online community demand veiled emoticons, the yellow round faces used in chats and the like, with only the eyes visible, no other sign of emotion. Imagine such an emoticon replacing the exit-boards showing you out on every airports. Would that message be understood ? Or is it two different counters to check in, one for faceless one with a face. Naturally there will be a supplement to pay if you choose to travel *with* your face which, as the incident illustrates, leads to higher costs checking the face-passenger individually. Maybe something the us constitution forgot: "endowed by their creator with a face" is not actually in there. Neither is "common sense".
