Little sympathy for Palestinians

Reader comment on item: Israel is Winning

Submitted by Jeff Bercovitch (Canada), Aug 6, 2002 at 12:02

Another well written article by Dr Pipes

Years ago I had some sympathy for the Palestinians but that has all dried up. My sympathy is with the brave people of Israel.

I really could not give a flying falafel about the impoverished state of Arab Muslim culture. They only have their elitist leaders to blame for their problems.

The Arab Media is full of hatred towards the West; US and Israel especially, maybe some for the British. But the fact isthat the only political outlet is death to America, Death to Israel, Death to Jews, and Christianity has still a very low regard in the Arab world DESPITE the fact that Koran views Jesus as a prophet ( Arab Christians have not been very well treated in either Egypt, especially under Nasser, or in Lebanon).

But apart from that let us not forget that many Palestinians were throwing candy and shooting rifles on Sept 11, 2001. Happy that America was attacked and innocent people had were jumping out of the World Trade Center windows to their death.

The Palestinians were also laughing when Israel was attacked by Scud Missiles during the Gulf War.

I have not forgotten.
