Speaking of swords

My Elders say that the tongue is a two edged sword. With one edge you smite your enemy and with the other edge you smite yourself. Far better it is to hold your sword in its scabbard than to unsheath it with an unskilled hand.

They also say that the spoken word is a garment for the soul. Only a fool would clothe his beloved in the rags of a beggar.

The words we speak fall from out mouths to the ground like stones and then spring again from the earth as beautiful flowers or as terrible vines and snares to bind us. So whether we leave a trail of beauty or a trail of dispair all depends upon our use of words. Dispair follows the fool to his grave and pursues him in the after life but the pure of heart knows only beauty.
