It would be funny, if it wasn't tragic

Reader comment on item: Strange Sex Stories from the Muslim World

Submitted by B.N.Gururaj (India), Mar 22, 2009 at 10:48

It is indeed outlandish that fruitful marriages which are decades old are broken up on the evidence of someone who says that they were wet-nursed by the same woman. It is not the statement of the wet-nurse, but of someone else. That is legally speaking, hearsay evidence. This person offers to produce more hearsay evidence. But, this strange method of appreciating evidence does not surprise me in the context of a religion which provides that a man's evidence is equal to the evidence of two (or is it four?) women. The human dimension of such tragic development in the lives of people is not properly appreciated. Still liberals praise Islam no end!
