moderate muslim: a misnomer

Reader comment on item: Moderate Muslims March in Phoenix

The humanists of the west still do not get it. This interpretation of Islam is NOT a peaceful religion and does not leave room for moderation. Islam considers itself supreme and destined to rule and dominate if not by debate then by the SWORD. . Our judge should be the quoran, life of their prophet and history. A moderate muslim is not true to the Quran, and is in transition to be a regular muslim, or leave Islam.

Unfortunately, the debauched aspects of the western culture are a stumbling block for moderate/enlightened muslims to embrace anything else. Talk to the persecuted christians in the middle east, pakistan and others, and read/listen to statements of leading muslim scholars the world over (particularly in the native tongues) to get a true picture. The very low turnout for this march is a testimony to the fact that a moderate muslim is a misnomer.
