Not nearly enough

Reader comment on item: Moderate Muslims March in Phoenix

Submitted by Ethylred (United States), Apr 30, 2004 at 09:48

I paraphrase what Ibn Warraq has stated: "For every verse that the moderates use to portray Islam as not violent or hateful, the radicals can supply ten to justify their actions."

The jihadists are not 'killing innocent people', they are fighting the oppression of our Muslim brothers and battling the infidel to extend the dar al Islam.

Let Zuhdi Jasser actually come out and renounce violent jihad, dhimmitude and the Koranic treatment of women.

I take the words to mean exactly they say, except when they are abrogated or are lies such as jihad is only defensive. Name one truly defensive battle.

I am cynical enough to not believe a word Mr. Jasser says.
