Reader comment on item: On New York's "Khalil Gibran International Academy"

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Aug 10, 2008 at 10:07

If Dabah Almontaser refuses to answer whether or not she condones violence, can we then conclude that she does? Because she won't answer this very-important question, this puts her in a bad light amongst not only academia but the public as a whole. She also skirted around the issue of the jihad t-shirts.

She is either very clever or very naiive, but in any case, someone like her shouldn't be in charge of anything, let alone principal of a supposed public school. Ms Almontaser would have elicited more respect if she had been truthful about her intentions, but this determination to stir up dissension has backfired with unexpected results not in her favour. It is had not endeared her to the already Muslim-skeptical society in this country.
