I feel sorry that you spend most of your time stating I'm not an arab and can't understand arabic. That is only because my name is Susan!!! Susan is also a name used in the Arab world. I am Arabic by birth and I was raised in an Arabic country Jordan. I studied in Arabic schools too. I was born Muslim and became a true practicing Muslim after 9/11. For your information I am also a PHYSICIAN from a highly educated family.

"As a matter fo fact sheikh al-Azhar in 1981 told parents in Egypt to ignore the anti-female circumcision opinions of doctors and he quoted a famous hadith where Abul Qasim aka Muhammad the caravan raider and Arabian warlord had a chat with an Um Habiba: "who was reputedly a circumciser of female slaves. Upon encountering her Mohammad asked Um Habiba whether she continued to practice her profession. She said that she did but that she would give up if the prophet disapproved far from objecting he not only told her it was allowed he also demonstrated the correct way to do the operation and he said: "come closer so I can teach you." and in another version he said: "if you cut do not overdo it because it brings more radiance to the face and is more pleasant to the husband." elsewhere mohamad is supposed to have recommended circumcision as a sunna for men and a makruma for women. he also said: "if both circumcised parts meet or if they touch each other it is necessary to wash before prayer. " This is not hadith sahih or sahih hadith whatever you want to call it!!!! In Jordan there is NO FGM even in the most religious groups.

As you know in Islam there are always scholars with different point of views. Yet we follow the ones which are moderate and their fatwas are based on true knowledge.
