A muslim response to the Fitna movie!

Reader comment on item: Will Geert Wilders Show His Film on the Koran[, Fitna]?

This is to address some of the scenes in the movie:

1. Female genital mutilation is not islamic in origin! There are no Quran verses that suppport this act. There is no Sahih Hadith(which means the true sayings of the prophet Muhammad) to support it either. This is a practice mainly in Africa never done in Mecca in Saudia Arabia where islam originated(which means it is not an Islamic act)!!!

2. The pictures of women cutting her childs forehead and a man bleeding: This is a practice made up by a small sect of Shia. They believe they mimic the suffering of Hussien a prominent muslim figure. The Quran and the prophet Muhammed have not ordered such a thing. In islam the body is sacred and humans are not allowed to mutilated even dead bodies! No Sunni ever does this practice of deliberately hurting ones own body!

3. As for the hanging of women who had extra marital sex: The islamic law is not for hanging , it is for stoning the man and woman both till death if they are married not single only if islam rules the nation. That means there is an existing islamic country the provides the means for a marriage and still the men and women want to comit adultery. Remember in islam there is no reason for extra marital affairs because divorce is permissable!!! The islamic nation does not exist at this time, so muslim scholars say we can not apply this rule of stoning till death to our modern time.

4. As for gay punishment: The quran and the prophet Muhammad condem homosexuality like Christianity and Judaism. There is no stated punishment in the Quran or by the prophet Muhammad for homosexuality. This is left to each country to decide the right punishment. That is why some muslim countries try to guided the misguided and has minor punishment and other go for capital punishment.

5. As for the KILLING issue this is taken out of context: THese verses were specifically during actual wars at the time of the prophet Muhammed. When muslims were the minority fearing for there lives and defending themselves. At a time when religion was the number one reason for wars and death. No religious group could survive unless they were strong enough to fight the enemy which had to be of a different belief.
