US Sponsorship of Palestinian Terror Consitent With Goals
Reader comment on item: Throwing out the [Arab-Israeli] Rulebook

Submitted by Yonason (United States), Jun 24, 2003 at 14:45

It looks like Y. Sagamori hit the bulls eye with her story "Judeophobia," http://www.israelnn.com/article.php3?id=2424

I think this article is the most important new insight with regard to the US role in shoving the "roadmap" down Israel's throat.

With regard to Sagamori's thesis that it is economically motivated, I just read the following:

"The World Economic Forum meeting in Jordan has inevitably been overshadowed by developments in the Middle East peace process. But the economic business continues. The big theme has been a proposal recently floated by President Bush, for a free trade area encompassing the United States and the Middle East. Two key US officials have been trying to sell the idea here - the Secretary of State Colin Powell and the Trade Representative Robert Zoellick [who?]."

It can be found on the BBC web site:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3013598.stm

Also, links are there to other related stories that I haven't read yet, but will probably shed some light on this.

Bingo!

It looks like they have relegated fighting terror in Israel to a status secondary to what they see as US economic interests, and they are sacrificing Jews to their economy god to win it's favor.

The significance of this, as I see it, is that all appeals for them to see the "error of their ways" will fail; partly because we aren't addressing their real motives, and partly because they are obviously morally incapable of it. Attempts at making them "see reason" are so wide of their mark as to be totally wasted on them. They don't care if they are forcing Israel to compromise to the terrorists, because dead Jews apparently take a back seat to market share, and may even be perceived as beneficial.

All the debate over a two state, or any other phony solution, is a smokescreen meant to distract the principals, and everyone else, from the real business going on behind the scenes. A ?Palestinian? state is just an issue of convenience because it creates the biggest diversion. The US cares no more about the so-called ?Palestinians? than it does about Jews. The US policy of the ?road map? is just so clearly immoral that it is only a matter of time before Americans realize that peace can?t be the goal. If our leaders value dollars over lives, innocent or guilty, abroad, how can we expect them to do otherwise here?
