Surprisingly calmReader comment on item: Throwing out the [Arab-Israeli] Rulebook Submitted by Shalom Freedman (Israel), Jun 17, 2003 at 15:49 I am surprised by the calm, informative tone of this article. A Palestinian state would most likely be the source of an unending irredentist effort to undermine Israel. The opening of a border to the Palestinians would so flood the area with Arabs ( not simply Palestinians) as to tremendously worsen Israel's demographic problems. I think any friend of Israel should use every opportunity not simply to show how the Palestinian state would be a danger to Israel, but how it contradicts in every way President Bush's war on terror. A Palestinian state is a reward to the suicide- bombers and the Arafat cabal. It gives the message to the world that terror cannot only go unpunished but will even be rewarded. People who have any position and influence with the Administration should try to persuade it that it is taking a wrong line in the conflict, one wholly inimical to American interests.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
