is islam spread via the sword ?

Reader comment on item: Militant Islam's New Strongholds

Submitted by Phil Greend (Canada), May 31, 2007 at 21:21

We hear people say islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Is this due to people choosing to follow this life or is it due to threats of violence. Certainly there have been enough examples in the world for us to see for ourselves. People in some countries live in fear of the muslims and their violence, is this due to racist thoughts or is it due to all of the killings that have been done in the name of islam ? How many attacks by islamic people is enough to say " maybe it is not just an isolated act or two but rather it is a way of things. The nature of the beast. One must look to the teachings of mohammed who said " who ever changes his islamic religion KILL him. " . This is the guy muslims look to for guidance. Should we worry about muslims who want to come to the west, or should we just think every thing will be fine.
