What strongholds?

The most peaceful and just way to defeat the Middle Eastern oily stranglehold on our ecconomy would be to push implementation of alternative energy sources. Either hydrogen or gas electric powered automobiles and power plants would eliminate the need for 70 percent of the world's oil supply. Then all the oil countries that are aiding the terrorists would be out of business and begging for our aid.
