...... and U.S. endorsement of a Palestinian state remains remote.

I would hope that this outcome is not true. If there is ever to be peace in Israel and the Palestine area, a Palestinian state needs to be established.

It would also go a long way in showing the Arabs that the U.S. is not just all pro Israel and anti Arab.
