Reader comment on item: Bush on Israel: Heartburn for All

I hope that you are right when you say that the "Road Map is just for show".

But I have my doubts. Bush, for better or worse, appears to be committed to it. He continues to puzzle me. On one hand he seems to be a good friend of Israel, on the other he seeks to appease the Arab World for his successful invasion of Iraq. He cannot continue to "have his cake and eat it".

Or can he?
