Dear italian

The last thing on Prof Daniel Pipes mind is to castigate the poor wretch who placed himself in harm's way. This article was all about the sheer bigotry, the antisemitism inherent to saying "sorry we killed your child, an innocent well-meaning Italian, we are even more sorry we didn't get an equally iinocent Jew. Killing a Jew is OK, because Jews dont really have a right to live in Jerusalem, like, say, Armeninans, Scots, Russians, Italians or anybody not Jewish" It is the ultimate in antisemitism, in reaffirmation of the Final Solultion, to say "please forgive me for having killed the wrong person" and actually be forgiven. It is a confirmation given by the highest authority, the parents of the slain child, that killing another child is laudable, if he is Jewish.
