Work while it is Day, the Night cometh when no man can work.-Jesus

Reader comment on item: Israel Has a War to Win

Submitted by Michael (United States), Jul 21, 2006 at 11:32

*A statement by the head of the Gestapo in his annual report in the summer of 1938: "The situation in the churches is characterized by weariness with the struggle, by uncertainty of purpose and by lack of courage." Weariness in the stuggle with evil is a self indulgence, a luxury that presages surrender and anihilation. The weary Christian churches of Germany failed.

*The cross of Hitler (the swastika) was preferred to the Cross of Christ, both Protestants and Catholics betrayed their God and their Savior. In so doing, they destroyed themselves, their nation, and gave free rein to Hitler's genocidal hatered of the Jewish people.

*Isaiah 24:6 declares "Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore earth's inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left"(NIV). Israel is weary of fighting and is uncertain of her purpose. In fact, Israel is weary because she is uncertain of her purpose. Since the Shoah, the Holocaust of Nazi Germany, Jews have experienced a crisis of faith and identity. The Chosen People cannot abrogate the Covenant. The Blessings and the Curses of the Covenant fall on the Jewish nation independent of their collective or individual desires. "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance." If the Jews and Israel are faithful to the ancient Mosaic Covenant that formed them as a nation, a people, a Chosen People, the weariness will disappear and her divine purpose to be an instrument of God and a Blessing to the non-Jewish world will be clear and unambiguous. The Jew and the nation of Israel cannot shun the eternal Covenant that created them as a nation with a mandate, mission and a future without destroying themselves.
