Reader comment on item: Anti-Muslim Racism?
in response to reader comment: move where?

This website is replete with examples of how Muslims have demanded concessions to their way of life which are contrary to the customs and traditions of Western society. Read the website more carefully and you will find it all. The entry entitled, "Londonistan follies" would be a good place to start. The end goal, AS STATED BY MUSLIMS THEMSELVES, is to eventually have Islam as the law of the land. CAIR has stated that they wish to see the constitution of the US replaced with Sharia Law and the green flag of Islam fly over the White House. A study by the Home Office in London reveals that 40% of Muslims there admit to wanting Sharia Law to replace British Law.; how many wish for that, but didn't admit it we cannot know.

I don't really care whether the Muslim is an immigrant, or the home grown variety. That is why I reject accusations of "racism." It really has nothing whatsoever to do with "race", but a belief system which is incompatible with secular, Western democracy. There is no democracy in Sharia Law and you know it.

Yes, you may be perfectly willing to "live and let live", but there are many who, if they gain any political power, will IMPOSE Sharia Law on all, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. We who are not Muslim, and do not wish to live as Muslims, have every right to resist this. I don't know anything about you personally. You might be a well-meaning person who truly wishes to respect all belief systems. However, the Muslims who wish to impose Sharia Law on others do not and will not respect other belief systems (including the right to not believe). In a confrontation between the likes of you and them, I will put my money down on them because of their sheer brutality.

And that really is the crux of the issue, isn't it? That was the whole point of the headscarf issue in the French schools. Fundamentalist Muslims DID NOT view the headscarf as a matter of personal choice. They harassed and intimidated students who chose not to wear it. As I stated in my previous post, this caused friction and disruption in the schools. The French government decided to eliminate ALL religious symbols, including Jewish skullcaps, Christian crosses, and Sikh turbans. Western countries have every right to make their own laws, just as Islamic countries have the right to set their own laws.

I will worry about your sensitivities when the first church is built in Saudi Arabia, and bibles are allowed there. After all, mosques are being built all over Italy, the home of the Vatican.
