Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: Women's right

I'm fed up of Muslim women throwing homosexuality, women giving birth outside wedlock, promiscuity etc back in the faces of Western women. Doesn't she realise that these are PROBLEMS within our society? If people are homosexual they should be able to have relationships, they can't help the way they feel. There are as many Muslims with those feelings as Westerners, it's entirely human behaviour.

As for the destruction of family life as we know it, those of us who have to work hard and raise families and manage to do so whilst remaining happily married DESPAIR of those who don't provide and support their children properly. The government made a decision NOT to support 'the family' and this is in part the result. I really do not see how the fact that Western culture is not perfect is any kind of excuse for the disgusting abuse that is endemic in the Islamic world. Women do not have equal rights in Islam and the results of this are evident all over the world. All anyone has to do is go to the library and borrow a book written by an Islamic woman about their treatment in the hands of men in their countries of ethenticity or origin. It's not their personal experiences of abuse by individuals which is so disturbing (that kind of abuse against women occurs the world over). It's the culture which surrounds it and accepts and supports it and even encourages it. Teenage girls at the abortion clinics are a sad and sorry statistic, something we really ought to be doing more about as a society, but that doesn't compare with the horror of watching your mother smother your baby sisters after birth, nor having petrol poured over you and being set alight by your own brother because your neighbour seduced you!!!!
