He lied

Saddam Hussein,: One liar who convinced the world that his lies were true-that he really did have WMD's. As to those who were fooled, I have a page full of statements by prominent Democrats indicating that they believed Iraq had WMD's. So it was not just the UN, the intelligence services of the world and the Bush administration who were fooled.
