Dear Danish/American,

In answer to your post:

"Are Americans just supposed to sit back and watch hostile contries take over others? If we did, then everyone would be mad at us for not stopping them...we can't win it seems. If we help, people hate us, if we don't, they still hate us."

First of when, who died and made the US boss over the world? Who expects the US to "solve" global problems?

We don't hate you - we hate your government's policies - let's admit it - war is a very lucrative business. In fact, Americans should be upset by the fact that their hard earned tax dollars go into feeding this famished war machine! Wouldn't your money be better spent inside your country? Creating much needed jobs, better services for its citizens? Doesn't it annoy you that your money is going to "ungrateful" foreign countries? If I were in your shoes, it would annoy the hell out of me.

The beauty of your democratic system is that you can choose your government, why don't Americans choose a president that actually improves things internally rather than waste money on never ending war waging? (Oh dear, this all reminds me of George Orwell's novel 1984!!) What do these wars actually do for US citizens? Does "winning" one of these wars improve things in the US? Does it make the families who lose their sons and daughters in foreign countries happy? Does it create more jobs, health services etc for American citizens? Ex President Clinton was more involved in internal matters so he was removed promptly and another war wonger was put in his place - has he made the economy better there? Has he made your quality of life any better?

An interesting new documentry was made about this, perhaps you should watch it:

"Why we fight" by Eugene Jarecki. You just might get a different perspective.

And please, I implore you (and others) - don't get pulled into the lie that your government sends your youth to die in foreign lands out of the kindess of its heart? How pardoxical is that anyway?

Once again, we do not hate you - you're the cool country that gave us movies, hamburgers, the internet (and many other things that don't come to mind at the moment) - this great venue for expressing yourself and learning new things - we should use this great invention to better understand one another, and maybe, just maybe, rise out of this mexican standoff and learn to accept one another's differences and respect each other and coexist, afterall we're all stuck on this planet together - we can either put our differences behind us and try to get along as well as possible or we can continue to lash out at one another.

It's clear that there are mindless people (from both sides of this current issue) creating chaos and ill feeling in this world, can't the rest of us with half a brain at least try to fix the damage they're doing? Shouldn't we not lower ourselves to their way of thinking/acting?
