Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: Muslims' Belief in Jesus christ..

Submitted by Anonymous (Sweden), Feb 21, 2006 at 15:26

I am a Muslim and at my home we have all three books, the Taurat Sharif ( holy Torah, the book of the jews), Injil Sharif (The holy Bible) and the Quran Sharif . (Sharif means holy). I myself am not a very religious person, but my mother and grandmother read these books with respect, like the way they read the Quran. Many children in our society are named Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus). Moses and Jesus are our prophets and we do not utter their names without saying "peace be upon him'.

But we differ from the Jews as because lending money and taking interest is 'haram' (forbidden) in our religion and is it a shameful thing. And we differ from the Christians as well- like the Christians we do not believe that Isa (Jesus) was the son of God. We believe Allah is formless and gender-less, Allah is the supreme power and Allah can not give birth anybody.
