That's a very interesting point that you make, Layla. My experience on this board has been that the only way to elicit a response is to be as condemnatory as possible and provoke at least an emotional response. It seems to be the only tactic that works as witnessed by the religious clerics whom we see in action around the world! The lack of intellectual debate, for it's own sake, has been absolutely staggering! So I'm inclined to think that you're probably on the right track with your theory.

But would you think it far fetched if I were to expand that theory and come to the conclusion that this phenomenon might also be related to Muslim culture (as is presently stands) rather than to a particular localised political climate given the fact that this trait seems to be just as prevalent amongst the global Muslim community as a whole rather than just those resident in the Middle East?

Would be very interested to hear your opinion on this!
