Dinesh,
I adore theories and your theory looks to me very reasonable.
I have a theory of my own you know,

I believe that all this violence and craving for expansion over lands, well, it could be related to the general force of the universe to bring everything to an equilibrium, you know, good versus evil, nice versus ugly, etc..or maybe it is related to the second law of thermodynamics which is called entropy which means that in the universe, there is a general tendency to increase the disorder. Entropy tries to distroy life. I also believe that this phenomenon has a genetic explanation: maybe those extremists have such a genetic configuration that pushes them to expand and periodically kill. Unfortunately they cannot dominate the world by using smart economy. They could have used such tools since they have much money, and using their money they could have dominated the West just by bringing new technologies, arts, medicine ore any other innovation. This way they could have gained respect and honor from the Western society, like the Japanese did after world war II.

Unfortunately, these people do not have such intellectual skills (I am not talking about the 1 percentile of their people who may have such skills but who are either afraid or restricted by their genetic+educational makeup. Yet, these fanatic people are extremely envious of the free world. Therefore, they are trying to dominate by force and terrorism. World domination is their agenda and not by demonstrating contribution to society but instead by demonstrating violence.

Lets imagine for an instant how this world would look like if Muslims were dominating it, thoroughly. Do you think we would have a flourishing culture ? Freedom for everybody (including women) ? Technology ? Is there one Muslim here who can guarantee such a world under a totalitarian Islamic regime ? I don't think so. It is sufficient to look at the Arab regimes and to understand what will be our faith, under a similar regime.

I also believe that what really happened was the appearance of a natural selection (selfish genes ?) such that a particularly violent community has been created and it is expanding fast.
Is there anybody in this forum who wishes to behead me ?
I will not be surprised...
And yet they are all craving for peace.....
