Iraq/Afghanistan - Attempts to reduce immigration?

Read half of this then lost interest due to a glaring misrepresentation of facts. The two largest sources of immigrant populations were from Iraq and Afghanistan BEFORE the recent wars. Hopefully, these conflicts serve to reduce these numbers as asylum seekers will no longer be able to claim persecution from The Taliban or Saddam Hussein as cause to remain here.

It would be interesting to find out just how much this benefit was factored into our decision to go to war.
