Tipping Point: Mass Publication of Jyllands-Posten cartoons

Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?

Submitted by Alan (United States), Feb 2, 2006 at 13:37

The mass publication of the Jyllands-Posten cartoons (all 12 are benign) is an exercise by the European press, actively, and by European readers, vicariously, to be free of Muslim intimidation as to what can and cannot be said about Islam.

Bravo to this act of intellectual liberation. I suspect that we are witnessing a European 'tipping point' where the Europeans will fight for the right of freedom of expression without fear of religious tyranny.
