If I may suggest, "surprising", more than ‘'strange", better describes the enslavement to this progressivism of the intellectual world, and which, of course, is a boon to the non-white post-colonial (and the UN).
I am an immigrant and non-white, and (with understandable discomfort) I agree with John Fonte. I have only this thought to add, as extension: this litany of progressivism's maladies, is too painful a one to contemplate, when the hope is that it will, one day, wear out. I find it less stressful to bundle them under the one single rubric, the one no one dares to question - EQUALITY.
This hypnotic concept, embraced by the intellectual world, I believe to be the driving force behind progressivism's conceit that what God or nature did not do, intellectual man can. I happen to think otherwise.
